The Denville Township School District is a comprehensive public school district in Morris County, New Jersey, serving students in grades K-8 from Denville in three schools: two K-5 elementary schools and a middle school.
As of the 2008-09 school year, the district's three schools had an enrollment of 1,976 students and 148.3 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 13.3.[1]
The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "I", the second highest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. From lowest socioeconomic status to highest, the categories are A, B, CD, DE, FG, GH, I and J.[3]
Students in public school for grades 9 - 12 attend Morris Knolls High School, which is located in Denville, but has a Rockaway address, along with residents of most of Rockaway Township.[4] The high school is part of the Morris Hills Regional High School District, which also serves the residential communities of Rockaway Borough, Rockaway Township and Wharton.[5]
